Freeplay Music – A free source of music for student project.

Jamendo – A source of free and legal music downloads that were uploaded by the artist. Not all music is licensed for reuse, but there is a great deal that is covered by the Creative Commons license.

Free Music Archive – A free music archive that is not only free but ‘good.’

Royalty Free Music – Students and teachers can download a great deal of music and sound clips for free if for personal, project use.

Sound Bible – A resource for finding and downloading free sound clips, sound effects, and sound bites which are public domain or labeled with a Creative Commons license. Use for podcasts, videos, slideshows, etc.

Recording

Audioboo – Record and upload audio that is 5 minutes or less in length. Register to the site and use it for free.

Audacity – Sound recorder and editor. It is a free program that can be downloaded and used on your computer. This program is great for layering sounds, ie. music, voice-over, sound effects.

Cinch Cast – Record and upload audio that is 5 minutes or less in length. Register to the site and use it for free.

Online ConVert – Free, online converter for audio, images, documents, video, and e-books. It also generates hash tags.

Zamzar – Free, online multiple format file conversion.
