Xtranormal – This site allows students to create and direct their own animated movies. Students can choose a set, actors, and music for their videos. Students have a huge amount of control of exactly how their movie will look; they can choose camera angles, animations, expressions, looks, points, and sounds.
Comics
Bitstrips for Schools – Create you own comics. If you are an Ontario teacher, you can use this program for free as it’s been paid for by the Ministry of Education.
Comic Life – This web application lets you create astounding comics, beautiful picture albums, how-tos… and more! The easy-to-use interface integrates seamlessly with your photo collection or iSight. Drag in your pictures, captions, Lettering text (‘ka-blam!’) and speech balloons and your work is done!
Go Animate – Easily make your own animated characters, direct your own cartoons, and watch others’ creations for free.
Make Beliefs Comix! – Create your own comic strip which will be posted to Make Beliefs Comix! Facebook page.
Pikistrips – Create comic strips from your photos.
Pixton – Create comics through an easy click n drag user space. There’s a free membership option that has less features than the full membership for schools. They claim to be the leading site for comic creation.
